KENDAL-born Garry Thompson is off to Wembley yet again as part of Scunthorpe United's party for the televised League One play-off final against Millwall on Sunday.
Thompson, who joined Scunthorpe from Morecambe last year, featured in ta thrilling semi-final victory over MK Dons, which went to a drawn-out penalty shoot-out - Scunthorpe winning 7-6 after former Chelsea star Tore Andrew Flo put his spot-kick on to the crossbar.
Thompson came into the side after leading scorer Gary Hooper pulled out with a groin strain.
Hooper returns for the final, which means Thompson will be left looking for a place on the subs' bench for the big match, which is to be shown on Sky TV on Sunday (1pm kick-off).
Thompson told Scunthorpe's official website Iron World: "It would be great to bei nvolved this time around. "I missed out against Luton (in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final) because I had a hernia and I'd just had an operation a fortnight before the game. "I still cheered the lads on though and hopefully this time I will play a part."
Thompson has plenty of experience what a play-off can mean - he scored for Morecambe in the 2-1 win over Exeter City two seasons ago.
Meanwhile, it's a second visit this season to Wembley for Scunthorpe, who will be keen to atone to their 9,000 travelling supporters for a 3-2 defeat to Luton Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
