THERE were century knocks from Kendal and Netherfield batsmen in Saturday's Furness BS Northern Premier League matches, but neither of the local clubs could manage to win.
At Fleetwood, Netherfield professional Glen Batticiotto made 105 but lacked support as the visitors were all out for 166 in pursuit of the home team's score of 179 all out.
Netherfield bowlers Scott Clement (3-31) and Chris Miller (3-57) were in the wickets but the batting let-down - the pro apart- led to the 13-run defeat.
Kendal opener Kevin Howarth also hit threee figures at home to Darwen with a splendid 125 out of a score of 216-5, with pro Ross McMillan making 42.
McMillan went on to remove the top six Darwen batsmen , adding 6-55 to his run in a fine all-round display.
Sturt Parkin took 3-39, but the final Darwen wicket proved beyond them as the visitors clung on for the draw at 140-9.
Chorley (104 pts) and St Annes (93) lead the way in the Division 1 table, with a point seperating Netherfield and Kendal in sixth and seventh places respectively.
