A MAXIMUM-point haul in the Weeton Stages, the eighth round of the GPM/Kirkby Lonsdale Motor Club Stage Rally Championship, has handed Keith and Jacqui Richardson a nine-point lead in the Drivers Championship.
The Frizington pairing put in a flawless drive in the Escort Cosworth to take third overall on the event - avoiding the puddles, kerbs, potholes and mechanical failures that claimed a third of the 64-car field.
Ken Jackson made a late surge into 13th place in the 1600 Escort MkII.
Unfortunately Martin Lynch and son Shaun did not continue their good run. After brake problems, they damaged the wishbone in the Talbot Sunbeam after sliding wide and clattering the one of the infamous kerbs.
