AN INITIATIVE to identify talented junior golfers starts this summer with the setting up of the Cumbria Futures Golf Academy.
Carus Green Golf Club and Driving Range in Kendal will host one of four Open Talent Assessment Days held in the county on Saturday, August 5 (11am-1pm).
The Cumbria Golf Partnership, through funding provided by the England Golf Partnership, has launched the programme aimed at talented juniors between the ages of 7 and 15 who are just below the criteria for inclusion in county squad.
The extra funding will enabled to net to be cast wider to bring in players with the encouragement and coaching can step up their games to county standard.
