Bowls - Strugglers find upturn in fortunes

WEEK 13 was lucky for some in the Kendal and District League as struggling teams rallied with good results.

Arnside A gained only their second win of the season, an 8-2 home win over Netherfield B in Division One.

Netherfield A enjoyed better fortunes with a 10-0 verdict over KA Hale B.

There was no change at the top of the table as KA Hale beat struggling Abbot Hall A 8-2 and second-placed Holme A won 6-4 at fourth-placed Windermere.

It is a nail-biting campaign in Division Two with only a 15 points span between top and bottom.

Leaders Bowness A drew 5-5 at Holme C and second-placed Victoria B lost 7-3 at Levens B.

Bottom side Milthorpe A enjoyed a convincing 6-4 win over Ambleside A, while Ingleborough A lost 7-3 at Lower Holker A 7,3.

Kirkby Lonsdale edged further away from the rest in Division 3 this week with a 9-1 win over Lower Holker B for a 13-point gap on the rest of the pack.

Endmoor A consolidated their position in mid-table with a 10-0 win over struggling Holme D.

Levens C improved in Division 4, winning 8-2 over Burneside B to go on the same points as Endmoor B, who won 6-4 against Milnthorpe.

Burneside B and Sedbergh have a seven and six-point gap respectively at the top of Division 4, but with nine matches left, they can still be challenged.

Ingleborough B supplied the division’s best win - a 9-1 verdict over Victoria C.

Allithwaite C put up a strong fight at home to Endmoor C, resulting in a 8-2 win in Division 5.

Burneside C lost at home to leaders Allithwaite B, giving them a seven-point cushion from Arnside B.
