KENT Valley junior Sam Huddleston rode his third ever 25 miles time trial on Saturday and improved again - this time to 58mins 15secs.
Sam's latest advance came in the VC Cumbria 25 on the A66 beside Bassenthwaite, an event won by Shorter Rochford RT's Mark Holton with 50-43. Eighth fastest was Windermere's Carlo Berton (Border City) who clocked 55-27 and behind Sam in Kent Valley's contingent were Tim Bennett (58-35); Andrew Barlow (58-49); Glenn Howarth (1-06-20); Neil Stirling (1-07-42) and Ann Nicholson (1-08-42).
Kent Valley's latest midweek 10 on the Levens course was again blighted by a stiff westerly breeze but guest rider Mick Smith, Cleveleys Road Club, still managed 21-37 while riding a single speed 105-inch fixed gear. David Baxter did 21-43 and other leading local times were posted by Chris Dixon (22-58); Sam Huddleston (23-00); Andrew Barlow (23-14); Tim Bennett (23-44); Tom Gibson (23-54); Tony Dixon (24-38); Chris Stilling (25-07) and Sharon Padley (25-41).
