GRANGE Lions Annual Golf Am-Am, held at Grange-over-Sands Golf Club raised £2,800 for St Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston.
The amount included a £300 donation from the Charles Godwin Charitable Trust, a regular sponsor.
An entry of 120 golfers took part in changeable weather for the event last Friday.
The winning team of four, carding 91 Stableford points, was one of two teams from Johnstons Jewellers of Grange.
Pictured above are the winning team of G. Johnston, W. Crowe, G. Davidson and B. Gregory, receiving the trophy from Grange Lions President Eileen Patefield and Grange GC Lady Captain Stephanie Woodburn, along with Lions organiser Don Fraser.
This event has been held annually since 1996, always in aid of St Mary’s Hospice, and more than £40,000 has been raised over the years.
Johnstons were well deserving of a major prize because they have supported the event from the beginning and originally donated the trophy.
Jackie McLaughlan in their Grange shop also sold most of the Grange Lions’ Summer Draw tickets beforehand.
