A total of more than 3,000 orienteers from across the world competed, including strong contingents from Scandinavia and Australia.
A range of 50 courses each day catered for boys and girls aged less than ten to men and women over 85.
South Ribble OC’s Maurice Collett successfully completed each of the six day’s courses in M85.
Different venues were used for each day, ranging from mixed woodland and moorland at Tullochroisk near Kinloch Rannoch to the coniferous Tentsmuir Forest near St Andrews and the sand dunes of Barry Buddon military training ground near Carnoustie.
Lakeland’s Chris Heppenstall finished 29th in the Men’s Elite class, based on his aggregate time for all six days.
