Kendal Town have moved to sign James Connolly from rivals Burscough and local lad Gary Baker ahead of Boston United's visit on Saturday.
James is a commanding centre-half and is set to make his debut against Boston, while Gary can play in a variety of positions.
Manager Lee Ashcroft said: "After a couple of poor performances I was looking to add a couple of new faces to give competition for places. Both Jay and Gary are good acquisitions for the squad."
