Motorcycling - Ellison grabs world showcase chance.

A wildcard ride in the World Superbike Championships gave James Ellison a ride beyond his wildest dreams.

The Kendal rider who turns out for privateer outfit Jentin Racing really mixed it with the world works-team superstars and stormed to seventh place in the second race at Silverstone at the weekend.

It was a remarkable performance on a largely standard Yamaha bike, which is till under development by the team and on which James has only had a handful of competitive rides in this year's British Superbike Championship.
