Kendal Town manager Lee Ashcroft has been banned from all football for three months.

Ashcroft appealed against the FA ban today, Friday, but the appeals panel upheld the decision.

It means he will not be allowed to manage the club, from training or administration, to league matches between March 1 and June 1.

The ban, which includes a further three-month suspended ban until July 2011, was initially dealt in January and relates to Ashcroft's sending off against Kings Lynn on October 3.

He was dismissed from the touchline for allegedly using foul and/or indecent language towards match officials.

The club will make a statement about the ban after the weekend, where it is expected assistant coach Ian Kilford will step into the frame in Ashcroft's absence.

The consequences of the ban will surely unfold in the coming weeks, but for Town the news could not come at a worse time, as their promotion push kicks into gear.
