CUP commitments by Northern Premier League clubs have forced the cancellation of a special inter-league match scheduled for Sunday.
Traditionally a Westmorland League side plays a side from the Lancashire-based Palace Shield League, but that was called off because of 20/20 competition.
A match was hurriedly rearranged with a representative side from Division Two of the Northern League, but this week came a second cancellation as the Northern League sides found they were also committed to Sunday cup cricket.
The Northern League is, however, keen to make an inter-league match an annual fixture Colin Twiname, who organised the match for the Westmorland League said thanks were due to Arnside for preparing a wicket and offering to host the day.
