Katate - Junior strikes bronze

SEDBERGH Karate Club's Adam Littlewood took bronze in the kata (demonstration) section of the Aiwakai Junior Samurai Karate Championships, at Ripley, Derbyshire.

The whole club also did well and instructor David Jones said: "I am really proud. This was a national tournament with people attending from all over England.

"For a club like ours from a small northern town to win is fantastic.

"Adam has really put the effort in. He trains every week and has attended courses with senior Japanese instructors."

The club is affiliated to the Aiwakai Wado-Ryu Karate Association and trains under the authority of Mr K. Sakagami 7th Dan. Anyone interested in learning Karate can contact David Jones on 07870 530775.
