KENDAL Town FC have rearranged their pre-season friendly with Conference side Morecambe for next Thursday, August 5, (7.45 kick-off). A large crowd is expected.

The Westmorland Motor Club's 44th Motorcycle Sprint Hillclimb at Barbon Manor, near Kirkby Lonsdale, takes place on Saturday with more than 80 competitors taking part. Practice gets under way at 9.30am with the timed runs starting at 1pm.

On the cricket front, Netherfield saw their lead trimmed in the Northern Premier League last weekend and look to get back to winning ways at home to St Annes on Saturday at 1pm.

Kendal travel to Blackpool on Saturday (1pm) and also go to Fleetwood in the Thwaites Smooth Beer Trophy on Sunday (1pm).
