SEVERAL rights of way in the Lake District National Park will be closed next month when a major rally takes place in Grizedale Forest. More than 100 cars will compete in the Grizedale Stages Rally 2005 on Saturday, December 4, using forest tracks on the western side of Grizedale Forest and on Forestry Commission land at Broughton Moor. As a result, all forest footpaths, bridleways and unsurfaced roads between Coniston Water and the Hawkshead to Satterthwaite Road and two others at Broughton Moor will be closed during the event. The Forestry Commission will also be closing most permitted paths in the affected forests. More details on the rally route and car parks can be found on www.grizedalestages.co.uk
