KENDAL Town hope to make history tomorrow by going further than ever before in the FA Trophy.
Victory at Parkside would mean a huge cash boost and the chance of an even bigger payday if they are lucky with the draw for the third round.
A £3,000 winning bonus rides on tomorrow's match which would be a considerable help towards costs which have been said in the past to run at around £40,000 a year.
Club secretary Craig Campbell said: "We have never been further than the second round before, but if we get through the Conference clubs come in at the next stage and there is always they chance that we could draw Carlisle or Morecambe at home.
"Of course we could also find ourselves going to the other end of the country."
Before that, however, Town face the not inconsiderable task of upsetting the odds by ousting UniBond League Premier Division high-fliers Hyde United from the competition.
Hyde, fourth in the Premier League, but with several games in hand on the teams above them, arrive at Parkside on the back of having beaten Town 3-1 a fortnight ago in the UniBond League Cup.
But they could be in for a shock as Town boss Tony Hesketh rested five of his first teamers for that match.
