AN EXCEPTIONAL performance by Ingleton saw them beat holders Rimmington 2-1 in the second round of the Craven Senior Cup.
Chris Jackson opened the scoring for Ingleton in a good opening spell.
Rimmington, from near Clitheroe, were always dangerous, however, but Ingleton's defence matched them until the home centre forward siezed on a half-chance to level the scores.
The second half ebbed and flowed with both defences dominant. With 10 minutes to go Ingleton got the breakthrough when Jack Bland evaded his marker and crashed the ball into the back of the net to give his side a lead they held, with difficulty, until the final whistle.
