Player ‘attacked’

POLICE are investigating a serious assault on a 24-year-old Kendal Rugby Union player who was attacked at the rear of the former Booths store on Highgate in the early hours of Christmas Day morning.

Duncan Green, who is a forward, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment to head injuries after a young couple chanced across him.
