Kendal Town 3, Spalding United 0 ACE striker Kenny Mayers came up trumps just 14 minutes into Kendal's opening match in the UniBond League First Division.
Last year's leading scorer lashed the ball into the Spalding net to show that he is as goal hungry as ever.
Three minutes into the second half Dave Foster again showed his worth, netting Town's second as they took firm control of the match.
It was left to Mayers to apply the clincher he slammed in a penalty in the 82nd minute.
Town travel to relegated Bishop Auckland on Wednesday for their second league match.
Bishops lost 1-0 at home to Colwyn Bay today (Saturday).
