Football - Cup match abandoned

Kendal Town and Clitheroe will hve to try again in a fortnight after their UniBond League Cup first round match was abandoned tonight.

Town were trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes when the referee decided thst Clitheroe's rapidly icing pitch had become too dangerous for the game to continue.

By Saturday Town hope that conditions will improve enough for their home UniBond First Division league match with Belper to go ahead.

Kick-off at Parkside is scheduled for 3pm.
