Ged Smith fired Kendal ahead in the eighth minute at Ossett, but the points were not made safe until the death when leading scorer Lee Ashcroft made it 2-0.

Townsend gave Ossett brief hope when he netted in the 90th minute, but it was too late as Town took the three points to strengthen their hold on sixth place in theUniBond League First Division.
