Clitheroe 3, Kendal Town 4.
SEVEN goals were scored in a pulsating match at Clitheroe, with Kendal Town progressing to the next round of the UniBond League Cup.
Stansfield scored for the home side in the second minute only for Town to roar straight back as prolific striker Lee Ashcroft netted an equaliser within 60 seconds.
Chris Ward, starting in place of injured David Foster made it 2-1 to Kendal on 28 minutes only for Clark to equalise for Clitheroe on 37.
Ashcroft rounded off the action packed first half by shooting Town back into the leading in the 40th minute.
Key action in the second half came in the last 10 minutes. Left winger Ged Smith gave Town a two goal cushion with an 83rd minute goal only for Clitheroe to this time storm back within a minute through an Evans strike.
Town then held the home side at bay to secure a 4-3 victory.
