Football - Dream tie for Town

Kendal Town have landed a dream home tie in the semi-finals of the United Co-op Lancashire Cup.

Manager Tony Hesketh will pit his UniBond League First Division side against his old club, Lancaster City from the Conference North.

The sides line up at Parkside Road on Tuesday, February 28, and Town's team is almost certain to include former Lancaster captain Paul Sparrow, who surprisingly left City at the end of last season to join forces with Hesketh.

The other semi-final pits Southport against the winners of the Burscough v Accrington Stanley match which is due to be played on Tuesday evening.
