ONCE again Kendal paid the price of not converting superiority into goals.
Captain Lee Ashcroft fired them into the lead in the eighth minute and the visitors went on to dominate the game.
Yet it was Brigg who took the points Houseman equalising from a penalty in the 37th minute and Thompson netting the winner on 75.
UniBond League First Division leaders Mossley beat 2-0 Stocksbridge Park Steels and Fleetwood Town beat Bishop Auckland 3-2 to push Kendal down into third place.
New danger side Woodley Sports won 4-1 at Chorley to go fourth, just one point behind Kendal but with a game in hand.
Now Kendal desperately need a win when Warrington Town visit Planet Conservatories Stadium, Parkside, on Thursday evening, to stay in the race for automatic promotion and avoid the lottery of the end of season play-offs.
