Chris Ward hit a goal in each half to keep Kendal Town's automatic promotion hopes firmly on track.
After surviving early pressure from Kidsgrove Ward set Town on their way with an individual effort midway through the first half.
Town then settled to control the remainder of the match and on the hour Ian Kilford and David Foster combined well to set up Ward for his second goal.
Other results also boosted Town's chances of ajutomatic promotion to the UniBond League Premier Division.
League leaders Mossley lost and are now just four points ahead of Town, who have a game in hand.
Fleetwood won and remain third, but trail Town by two points.
Fourth-placed Woodley Sports, seen as one of the main dangers, were surprisingly beaten by Spalding and are six points adrift.
The three points at Kidsgrove are a major boost for Town at the start of a make-or-break week when they are home to promotion hopefuls Gresley Rovers on Tuesday evening and entertain mid-table Bridlington Town on Good Friday.
