SAM Clarke, 13, who plays at Kendal and Heversham with Milnthorpe tennis clubs, enjoyed the Wimbledon experience when he got to play on the hallowed turf during the national finals of the HSBC Road to Wimbledon U14 competition.
He was one of 64 players from England, Scotland and Wales competing over six days in singles and doubles events.
Sam, who is coached by Jon Griffin, reached the last 16 of the singles consolation draw before bowing out.
The highlight was playing on Championship Court No. 18, the scene of the epic marathon record-breaking match between Isner and Mahout at this year’s Wimbledon.
