CARTMEL based racehorse Chief Dan George is bidding to defend his Handicap Chase crown at the Cheltenham Festival this afternoon, Tuesday.
The Chief was a 33-1 winner in the William Hill Trophy Handicap Chase last year for trainer Jimmy Moffatt, and he is priced at 25-1 for glory in today's 2.40pm showdown.
Moffatt is getting The Chief ready for a crack at the Grand National at Aintree next month and you can be sure all eyes in Cartmel will be on the Cheltenham course this afternoon.
* Coverage of the newly named Stewart Family Spinal Research Handicap Chase will be on Channel 4, with the race set to start at 2.40pm.
