KENDAL emerged from their "must-win" National 2 North test at Morley on Saturday with a hard-fought 36-27 victory.
Kendal pick up four crucial points for the victory in their survival bid, but Morley scored four tries to the visitors' three and picked up a bonus point.
That could not take the shine off a great win for the Black and Ambers which featured tries from Dan Lowether, Chris Park and Garry Holmes.
Kendal set off meaning business as went 10-0 up in seven minutes after Lowther crossed for an early score, but Morley came back with three unanswered tries.
Fly-half Mark Ireland punished them as he put over three penalties, however, before the break as Kendal turned round 19-17 ahead.
A Morley penalty edged them back ahead in the second half as 20-19, but Park went in at the corner and Kendal were back in front, with Ireland converting, at 26-20.
Morley missed a penalty but scored their fourth try when Kendal conceded a free kick at the scrum in their own half and that kept it nip-and-tick with the Yorkshire outfit leading 27-26.
Ireland was unerring with the boot and a penalty returned the lead by a point to Kendal before excellent driving play resulted in Garry Holmes sealing victory with Kendal's third try, Ireland again converting.
