Hockey - County Cup comes to boil

GSK South Lakes and Windermere emerged as the likely contenders for this year's Cumbria Hockey Cup afer the first of two rounds of matches at Carlisle's Sheepmount astro.

Windermere beat Keswick and West Cumbria 2-0 and then defeated Kendal 5-2, while GSK beat Carlisle 2-1 and Keswick & West Cumbria 4-1. Kendal drew their other match, with Carlisle, 2-2.

GSK now face both Windermere and Kendal in this Saturday's games. Kendal also play Keswick & West, while Windermere complete their 2011 cup campaign against Carlisle.
