Bowls - Champions pick up winning thread

DEFENDING Division 1 champions Holme A got off to a winning start in the Kendal and District Bowling League, beating Arnside 8-2, while runners-up Kings Arms Hale A matched them with a 9-1 win at Holme B.

However the best result of the day came from Division 1 side Netherfield A, who had a 10-0 clean sweep at home to Windermere A.

In Division 2 Milnthorpe A beat promoted Burton 9-1 and off the mark quickly in Division 3 were Kirkby Lonsdale and Sedbergh, both dominating at home with 9-1 successes.

In Division 5 new club Hawkshead won 8-2 against against Bowness C.

Cumbria Ladies start their matches, the home leg being held at Levens Bowling Club on April 17 (2pm).
