KENDAL County returned to action after a two-week break with a 1-0 victory over Furness Cavaliers.
Starting well, County led after 10 minutes when Oliver Wilson met Aidan Caswell’s free kick to head home, but the bright start soon subsided.
Wilson had another gilt-edged chance but headed wide from five yards.
TheCavs keeper was kept busy up to half time with Davies at the other end almost a spectator, but County became disjointed with speculative efforts the best they could muster.
The second half brought the introduction of 16-year-old Jordan Gander for his first-team debut and his good cross deserved better from the on-rushing players.
Furness kept pressing but the County defence dealt comfortably with everything, particularly Mike Packham, who got over his disappointment of not being selected for BBC 2’s lambing live programme, with a strong display.
