Netherfield welcome a newcomer in South African professional Brady Barends, who was set to arrive on Wednesday in readiness for Saturday’s game at Barrow.
Quick bowler Barends joins a strengthened side at Parkside Road that includes batsman Marc Brown from Carlisle CC, who made the Cumberland side last year and has spent the winter in Australia with Alex Atkinson and Ollie Hill.
Also on board is John Mason, an ex Sedbergh schoolboy who broke on to the Minor Counties scene in 2001 while still at school.
He is an all-rounder who spent a short period sat the club during the 2002 season but has since played at Keswick, Syston and had a spell in Australia.
Steven Beck is a 17-year-old who joins from Moor Hospital after being advised by Grahame Clarke to join the club He has been training with Netherfield's John Huck at the Lancashire U19 nets.
Skipper Chris Parry is banking on the new batsmen making an impression to a title challenge.
They will turn to Ben Haddrick to top 500 along with Alex Atkinson, John Huck and Ben Barrow with Ollie Hill joining the competition for places.
The new blood will help to will replace the loss of Craig Walmsley, Ryan Wilson, Shane Hyland and the injured Graham Baker.
