IT became a toil in the sun for Kendal as they were were beaten 4-1 by a lively North Ferriby side, who looked more motivated by their chance of featuring in the play-offs.
Kendal started sloppily when allowing Chris Bolder to shoot over from 10 yards after some good work down the wing from Brooksby.
Kendal tried to get their passing game going and McEvatt was unlucky not to get a toe on the end of Dunn’s through ball which led to keeper Wilson making a sharp save.
But it was Ferriby who went ahead on 20 minutes when Kendal were caught on the break and Bradshaw danced past two Kendal players to slot a through ball for Brooksby to curl the shot past the diving Newton.
Kendal got back into the game on 40 minutes with a strong run down the left by Williams. He got to the byline and pulled a cross back for Dunn to convert at the near post.
The second half started with both teams pressing forward in search of the win and Williams had a shot from the edge of the box which narrowly went over.
The lively Bradshaw was starting to impose himself on the game for Ferriby and on 51 minutes Walmsley pushed him in the back to give away the penalty, Harsley sending Newton the wrong way wqith his spot-kick.
It was poor defending that cost Kendal and on 64 minutes Walmsley took his time to make a clearance only for Davidson to steal the ball off him for a free run on goal and he duly slotted it past the on-rushing Newton.
Kendal’s afternoon went from bad to worse when a quick free kick caught Winters napping and Bradshaw nipped in to score Ferriby’s fourth on 69 minutes.
Kendal still tried to get back into contention and in the closing stages Howson struck the bar and Dunn narrowly shot wide.
