Voorts View - Drama and tension over, we can celebrate

THE good news is that we are mathematically safe and can look forward to another year in the very competitive National 2 North.

The the bad news is that we lost out in another close game with only a losing bonus point (our 12th of the season!) to show for a very committed performance.

We have a full-blooded fixture against Penrith to look forward to in the County Cup Final on Tuesday night at Keswick Rugby Club before facing up to the challenge that is Loughborough Students at home on Saturday in what will be our fifth game in two weeks.

I am delighted with the spirit in the squad at the moment, with most guys playing with little injuries, everyone is still throwing their bodies into tackles and are fully focussed on finishing the season strongly.

Training on Thursday will see us putting the finishing touches to our preparations for the Students, before enjoying an end-of-season barbecue at the club - everyone is welcome.

Even by Kendal standards, this has been a season full of drama and tension. It would be great to toast a fantastic turnaround in 2011 with a few beers with as many Kendal players and supporters as possible.

Finally, I would urge everyone to come down to Mint Bridge on Saturday to see our young side, finally with the shackles that the threat of relegation brings removed, take on a Loughborough side that has never lost to Kendal.

They won't find it as easy this time around..
