Kirkby Lonsdale 17, Northwich 32: Kirkby Lonsdale wrapped up a difficult season with a valiant 32-17 defeat against fourth-placed Northwich on Saturday.
A well-struck disgona lpenalty by Close supplied kirkby’s only first-half points while Northwich notched two tries, one converted, and a penalty for a 15-3 itnernval lead.
Kirkby conceded a third try after the break but after converting it, kicker Dale suffered anepileptic fit and had to be held from the field.
Northwich added an unconverted try before kirkby responded as Voke raced from the halfway line, outpaced the visitors’ backs, and scored in the corner, Close adding the extras.
The young Kirkby side were playing with more confidence and Cleary sliced through to cross for another try, Close converting.
It was the ned of a hard season blighted by injuries but which saw the emergency of severla young players catapulted into the side as a plus.
The Second XV gained promotion despite losing players to the first team more or less every week.
