KENDAL lost 15-12 to Penrith in Tuesday's Cumbria Cup final at Keswick.
Kendal led 6-0 thanks to two Mark Ireland penalties from long distance but Steve Wood scored Penrith's first points with a penalty before Gary Hodgson crashed over for an unconverted try.
After Penrith's tighthead prop was yellow carded, Ireland added another penalty, but Kendal went down to 14 men when Gareth Gore was sinbinned.
Leading 9-8, Kendal went further ahead after a simple penalty but John Ladell could not capitalise on an interception when his disgonal kick rolled into touch just before his winger got there.
Instead Hodgson scored his second try a minute from time, which Wood converted, snatching the spoils from a disappointed opponents.
