CLEVELEYS strongman Derek Parkinson blew away the oppposition in Sunday's windswept Wigan Wheelers 30 mile time trial on the open roads of the Fylde.
Parkinson clocked 1hr 6mins 16secs to take the latest 'counter' in the Lakes and Lancs Sporting Courses (SPOCO) competition. Barrow's Jon Evans was fifth in 1-10-23; Levens junior Janathan Knox (Team Wallis CHH) was ninth in 1-12-29 and Chris Anderson (Biketrek RT) 12th in 1-13-12.
Brigsteer rider John Ingham (Lancaster CC) won the latest Kent Valley midweek 10 at Milnthorpe in 22-38 from Chris Dixon on 24-01 and another guest, Cleveleys' Paul Erisson, with 24-12. Other leading times were: Steve Hodgson 24-22; Ian Jackson 24-45 and Chris Stilling 24-47. Fastest woman was Sharon Padley in 28-30.
