CUMBERLAND have work to do to as Suffolk lead them by 167 runs with nine wickets standing going into the final day of the three-day Minor Counties Championship fixture at Mildenhall on Tuesday.
Hassam Adnam stood unbeaten on 73 out of Suffolk's second-innings score of 151-1 (41 overs) at the close of play on Monday evening.
Cumberland had declared their first innings on 325-4 (89.3 overs) after James Lowe and Kendal opener Jonathon Miles featured in an opening partnership of 141. Miles hit nine fours and two sixes.
Liam Livingstone, who had captured five Suffolk wickets earlier in the game, also contributed with the bat, hitting 66.
Ian Sharp, the Cumberland team manager, said: "Lowe and Miles showed excellent discipline and composure which laid the foundation of the Cumberland first innings."
He added: Liam Livingstone again showed maturity with an aggressive 66."
So far Cumberland have six bonus points and Suffolk five.
