Golf - Windermere pro off to California for PGA Cup

WINDERMERE professional Simons Edwards has won a place on the Great Britain and Ireland team to play in the PGA Cup.

Edwards’ equal fourth-place finish in the in the Glenmuir Club Pro’s Championship at the Belfry booked his ticket on to the team for the bi-annual event against a team representing the USA PGA.

The 2011 venue is Cordevalle Golf and Country Club in California. The event includes foursomes, 4 ball better-ball and singles match play and takes place from September 16-18.

Edwards’ wife Sam and the children get to go with him as part of the selection.
