LANEQUEST riders were close to the home of Beatrix Potter at Near Sawrey, Hawkshead, for the fourth race in the series.
Starting from the Tower Bank Arms, Chris Stevens' course was more hilly than previous events with a series of testing climbs, but it did not prevent series leader Staveley Mike Toyn from maintaining his winning form with 306pts, including time bonuses.
In equal second were Dave Heffernan (Ulverston) and Dave Hillingham (Endmoor) on 304.
Anne Plant's dmonination of the solo women's category continued with 274pts for the Pennington ace, but joint second-placed finishes Jo Cleary (Heversham) and Steph Jones got close on 270pts.
Toyn leads the men’s series on 1192pts from Hollingham 1178 and Heffernan 1159, while Plant (1040) had a 45-point lead over Jones in the women’s co petition.
