ROB Jebb struck form to take the Kentmere Fell Race as the Staveley-based Bingley Harrier held of the challenge of Borrowdale’s Morgan Donnelly for a 25-second winning margin.
Jebb negotiated the Lakeland classic in 1hr 28min 38 sec, while behind Donnelly (1-36-12) came third-placed Dave Milliken (Horwich) in 1-36-59, with Shaun Goodsman (Calder Valley) fourth in 1-36-59.
Ambleside AC’s Tom Gibbs ran well to finish fifth in 1-38-32 and Mark Roberts (Borrowdale) sixth in 1-39-38.
Cambridge University’s Fiona Hughes was first woman in 44th overall and 1-54-55.
INGLEBOROUGH Mountain Race winner Lloyd Taggart stamped his class on Saturday’s race.
The Manx Fell Runners star won by more than three minutes in 48min 4 secs from Settle-based Mark McGoldrick (Wharfedale) in second in 51-28 and Durham Uni’s Simon Wurr, third in 51-41.
Other leading finishers were: 4 Charles Sykes (Durham Uni), 5 Nick Charlesworth (Wharfedale) 52-13; 6 Dave Otewell 52-22.
Settle’s Matthew Fretwell was the first local in 57-54, while Hallamshire’s Lizzie Adams won the women’s race.
