KENDAL Town went down to a 4-3 defeat against Clitheroe FC in their away friendly on Saturday after conceding an 88th-minute winning goal.
Veteran defender Sean Gregan made his bow for Town, who had to replace first-choice keeper Craig Dootson early on after he fell heavily.
Even so the visitors led 3-1 at half time, coming from behind after Clitheroe went ahead in the 14th minutes with a header following a quick free kick.
But goals from Alex Taylor and Mark Peers put Kendal ahead by half time.
Gregan came off for the second half and Clitheroe equalised on the hour after a poor clearance and then went on level terms soon after before grabbing their late winner with a header over keeper Tom Newton.
