CONFIDENCE is high in the Kendal camp as they take on Hull tomorrow (Saturday) after last week seeing off Huddersfield, one of the danger teams in North Division One.
Twin power and team spirit were the key to the valuable away win said Director of Rugby Chris Hayton.
"Breakout tries by the Ladell twins broke the hearts of the home supporters while our defence was epitomised by the performance of young Nick Michelini who tackled as if his life depended on it," said Chris.
"His attitude was infectious and it began to look as if players were trying to out-tackle each other.
"Our defence was exceptional and, even though we were behind at half-time, nobody from Kendal, either player or supporter, believed we would lose.
"The game was physical and fast and we had only 14 fit players for the last minutes, but our counter-attacks were incisive and ultimately decisive.
"Most of all it was enjoyable and exciting," said Chris. "One minute we had our backs to the wall and the next we were scoring tries.
"It all made for edge of the seat watching. Much better than shopping!"
Despite knocks and bruises from last week's encounter, Kendal will be fielding a full strength side for tomorrow's Lakeland Limited-sponsored match at Mint Bridge.
Prop Ian Ross is out with a twisted knee, but there is good news with Billy Coxon returning. Coxon had not been expected to play for some time after a recurrence of an irregular heartbeat problem, but has now been passed as fit to play.
The bench is also strengthened by the addition of second-row Mike Capstick, who has recovered from an ankle injury picked up during Kendal's opening match against Chester, Kick-off is at 3pm and the full squad is: Forwards: B. Coxon, D. Green, A. Martindale; L. Hayton R. Quarry; N. McKain, G. Holmes, A. Hudson.
Backs: J., Gough, C. Park; L. Ladell, P. Tuhakaraina, N. Michelini, J. Ladell; S. Mulholland (captain).
Bench: A. Quarry, M. Capstick, M. Tuhakaraina.
