Kendal 32, Hull 18. A try-scoring burst in the 20 minutes before half-time gave Kendal a match-winning edge in a game which was closer than the scoreline suggests.
A penalty by Patrick Tuhakaraina was all that separated the sides after 17 minutes, then Kendal pressure began to pay off with John Ladell finishing of some neat interplay following a kick ahead and Billy Coxon peeling off the back of a maul to add a second try, converted by Patrick Tuhakaraina.
John Ladell gathered another kick ahead to swerve in for his second try and the conversion gave Kendal a 22-0 half-time lead.
Hull responded after the break, cutting through the Kendal line at speed to touchdown. They then added three points for a penalty before breaking through again for an unconverted try in the corner.
At 22-13 the next score would be vital and it fell Kendal's way with Patrick Tuhakaraina converting a penalty for offside. His twin brother Massey then put Kendal firmly back in charge as he darted in under the posts for his first try for the club, which Patrick converted.
Hull forced their way over for an unconverted try in the final minute.
