TROUTBECK Bridge swimmer Scott Munro-Bennett set a new club record when storming to victory in the 100m freestyle event at the Cumbria Autumn Graded Gala.
The 14-year-old exploded off the blocks and took the gold medal in 57.16, achieving the qualifying time for the county and regional 2012 competitions.
Rounding off a brilliant day, Munro-Bennett collected a second gold medal in the 100m breaskstroke and a silver in the 400m individual medley.
Emily Wild also had a great day in Whitehaven when taking the 200m individual medley gold in 2.46.25.
Using her power and superb skill at butterfly and backstroke she built up a big enough lead to hang on at breaststroke and a blistering freestyle leg ensured the win.
Seeking a qualifying time for 200m freestyle Emily came up with a brilliant 2.28.94 to take the silver medal in her age group, while Stephanie Booth contested three events and came up with medals for each one, her best effort coming in the 50m butterfly when she was marginally touched out to silver spot.
She then took bronze in the 200m freestyle and 400m individual medley.
Lewis Horrax, still getting back to his best after injury, swam a powerful 50m butterfly but had to settle for a well earned silver medal.
To finish off a great day for the squad bronze medals also went to Laura Garrick (50m breaststroke), Ollie Sargeant (50m freestyle) and Daniel Booth (200m breaststroke).
