DIVISION Two of the West Lancashire Football League was wiped out at the weekend as harsh weather conditions forced cancellations through the fixture list.
But it meant Milnthorpe Corinthians coach Keith Singleton had another week to get his players off the injury table in time for this weekend’s derby clash against Kendal County.
Cors’ matches against Ambleside United and Croston Sports both fell to the weather in recent weeks but Singleton will now have his full side available for Saturday’s crowd-puller.
He said: “We have been down to the bones for our last couple of games and had we played on Saturday we were missing four with injuries and three with work commitments, but we should now have a full complement fit for the County match.
“Last season we had more than 200 down to watch and we would expect a similar crowd on Saturday.”
League leaders Ambleside United will host fifth-placed Askam United on Saturday as they look to cement their position on top of the tree before Christmas.
