AMBLESIDE’s Kath McGhee collected nine trophies at the annual Cumbria Group of Endurance GB awards at the Crown Inn, Eaumont Bridge.
McGhee, atop Foxghyll’s Folly, finished fifth in the EGB National Championship this year and was crowned National Veteran Champion for the second year running.
They picked up distance trophies in annual distance, competitive rides, endurance rides, woody and veteran horse and others and points awards in Rom and Biddy, Holman and Dalebeck Dancer.
Sarah Urwin finished third in the EGB National Novice Championship and collected two county trophies. The Kirkby Stephen rider only started competing in endurance this season and picked up points trophies in Leesview Stud and first season comps.
Group secretary Nikki Pearson introduced ex-racehorse Ronnie from Donny to endurance riding and came fifth in the EGB National Novice Championship and fifth in the National Retraining of Racehorses Endurance competition.
Pearson’s strong rides landed her the Dalebeck Yanetta prize while Christopher Willis lifted the fiercely contested male rider award.
Julie Banks won the New Association member trophy, Barbara Jordan was the veteran rider champion and her husband Mike won the crewing award.
Ann Aldridge, Andy Braithwaite and Jean Gilbert collected trophies for success in the breed categories.
