IN the Cumbria Women’s League Ambleside travelled to play Keswick on Saturday and left disappointed at losing 2-1.
The game started well and it was a fantastic individual goal by Kelly Williams that put Ambleside in the lead, but Keswick fought back to equalise before half time.
The second half saw Ambleside press for the winner but excellent keeping kept them out before Keswick then broke quickly to earn the win.
Ulverston won 2-1 at Kirkby Stephen 2nds to maintain their six-point lead at the top of the league.
Windermere’s match in the North Lancashire League was postponed.
* KENDAL Ladies crashed to a 9-1 defeat against league leaders Ben Ryhdding on Saturday in the North Women’s Hockey League.
The result leaves the South Cumbrians in seventh place in the Premier Division going into the winter break, but they will return to action on Saturday, January 14 when they face Bolton at Kirkbie Kendal School (3pm).
In Division Two West Kirkby Stephen went down 1-0 at Alderley Edge and remain in sixth place.
