Hockey: Kirkby Lonsdale reach national finals

KIRKBY Lonsdale Girls U16 Indoor Hockey team won the North of England Indoor Hockey finals in Bradford.
Despite being inexperienced and underdogs for the tournament, the girls won all three of their games at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre to claim the title.
The girls defeated favourites Bowdon 3-0 in their first match before putting 11 unanswered goals past Heaton and in their final match they claimed victory with a 6-2 win against Doncaster.
The team will represent the north at the national finals in Wolverhampton on January 21-22.
