Northern Men 2nds 3
Kendal 3
ONLY 14 men travelled to Northern on Saturday to find a partially frozen pitch, but after a short delay, the match went ahead.
Starting 30 minutes late, just 11 men took to the pitch for Kendal with three players unwilling to risk the conditions, but a full and competitive game was played out.
Kendal soaked the pressure up for most of the game and with some great skill from Ewan Galloway and Aaron Screen, they went 1-0 up with Screen firing home just before the break.
The second half started with much Northern pressure but it was Kendal with an incisive break from the same two, that made it 2-0, Screen bagging his second, despite appeals for a foot in the D fall.
An appalling pass across the D allowed the opposition back a goal and a further shot from a short corner brought the scores level.
Galloway restored the Kendal lead but a dubious short corner for Northern was slotted home as both teams had to settle for an invigorating draw.
